" As I slowly hiked along a trail above Dark Hollow Falls in a heavy rain, I found myself feeling as if I should pause a moment near this rushing white water which was seen at a moment when the rain and wind had stopped and the air and surrounding forest became still. I experienced an emotion of deep calmness.
Suddenly I began to feel removed from time and space.
Everything became quiet except for the patter of raindrops on tree leaves and the gentle music of waters sounding in the small cascade. The world seemed simple again.
So I opened my camera shutter for several long seconds, hoping I could convey the sense of reverence and respect I had for this place, and which I knew would be impossible to communicate with words."
