Bio
In New York City in the 70's, Brent studied with fine art photographers Minor White, and color photography pioneer Eliot Porter.
Brent also studied with LIFE magazine photojournalist and Picture Editor John Loengard.
Another mentor at that time was Museum of Modern Art curator of photography John Szarkowski.
He founded Northlight Photography Workshops and Expeditions in 1983, and for the next three decades continued to teach while his work was being published and exhibited in journalistic media and in galleries as fine art prints.
His evocative natural landscape and cultural images have been exhibited and published in many venues: including the Smithsonian and San Diego Natural History Museums, and on the covers and pages of Audubon, Cape Cod Life, Garden, Orion, Outdoor Photographer magazines, as well as in Sierra Club and Audubon Calendars and books by Abbeville Press, Abrams, Macmillian and Time-Life.Above photo At Ballymaloe House wheat fieldCounty CorkBallycottonIreland.
